Local high school basketball fans are seeing a tourney return to the old days. It’s Saginaw versus Flint again.

In a Division 2 regional final, Saginaw High will battle Flint Hamady.

In Division 3, Nouvel Catholic Central is an underdog against Flint Beecher.

Both contests on Wednesday, March 15, begin at 7 p.m. in Caro and in Sebewaing, respectively. Birch Run might be a more ideal gas-saving location, but host sites are set up well in advance.

Saginaw High topped Shepherd on Monday, 47-33, while Hamady ousted Bridgeport, 68-57. Nouvel knocked off Millington, 69-49.

In Division 4, Michigan Lutheran Seminary’s surprise tournament run ended with a 74-60 defeat against Hillman.
