Saginaw High’s Trojans head for the state basketball quarterfinals as the lone remaining hope for fans and followers across the county.

Coach Julian Taylor’s squad next Tuesday, March 21, faces Cadillac at Alma High School, which is the home of a spacious, Ryder Center-type of gymnasium that hopefully will make plenty of tickets available.

SHS dominated Flint Hamady, 78-58, on March 15 to clinch another regional crown. The Trojans continued their Division 2 tournament run, bouncing back from a 30-point defeat late in the regular season instead of folding their tents.

In Division 3, Nouvel Catholic Central’s season came to an end against perennial powerhouse Flint Beecher by a 65-41 count in another regional title contest.
