University of Detroit Mercy School of Law students, along with volunteer attorneys, will be conducting Project Access, a free expungement clinic on Monday, May 15 at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. SVSU will host the clinic at Curtiss Hall located at 7400 Bay Rd.

Project Access is funded by a grant from the Michigan State Bar Foundation and is spearheaded by Clinton County Circuit Judge Michelle Rick, a 1991 graduate of Detroit Mercy Law and an adjunct professor who teaches Access to Justice.

Attendees can have their ICHAT (Michigan criminal record) reviewed, be advised on eligibility for expungement, and if eligible, be provided with assistance preparing the application to set aside conviction, along with directions for filing and next steps.

For questions, contact Detroit Mercy Law Clinical Program at 313-596-0262.
