The state-funded Saginaw Defenders Office opened in 2019 at 803 Court with an intended purpose to improve legal representation for impoverished defendants who cannot afford to pay for their own lawyer.
Court-appointed attorneys still exist, but the new $2 million operation is taking an increased role.
A presentation is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Community Alliance for the People within the downtown SVRC Marketplace, where farmers market sales are underway for the season.
