The Saginaw branch of LLEAD, Latino Leaders for the Enhancement of Advocacy and Development, will host a back-to-school event with an emphasis on language arts, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Delta College downtown campus, 319 East Genesee.
Participants will receive a bilingual book through the READ Association of Saginaw County, school supplies and a slice (maybe two) of pizza. Educators will be on hand with tips for adults on reading with their children.
Saginaw LLEAD is a group of volunteers who aim for community improvement. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month, and the next session is at 6 p.m. Thursday, also at Delta downtown.
