“Man Up: The Return” is a special day intended to help fathers connect with their male offspring. Thompson Middle School will host the program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Food, games and giveaways are on the agenda, along with a pair of other options that may surprise a young male student. One is a free haircut, and the other is a free massage.

The Saginaw Faith-Based Clergy Coalition is funding the free fun day, and the Saginaw County Community Action Committee is organizing the activities.

CAC Director Hurley Coleman III is a scheduled presenter, along with Brian Pruitt of “Power of Dad,” Pastor Kareem Bowen of The Potter’s Touch church and KISS 107’s “Straight Talk,” and mental health advocate Charles Allen.

On the women’s and girls’ side, “Fashion & Reflection.” also with no charge, runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Temple Theatre. Designers and seamstresses will be on hand, along with mental health professionals and community leaders. It’s never too late to learn to sew as a pathway to fashion, as Diana Ross demonstrates in the movie, “Mahogany.”

Guided Grace Family and Youth Services is the sponsor.
