At Thursday’s board meeting, the Saginaw Township Community Schools Board of Education chose internal candidate Jamie Kraatz for the position of superintendent.
Jamie Kraatz has been the Director of Learning, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at Saginaw Township Community Schools since 2019. She was selected from a pool of three finalists who participated in two Board of Education interviews, staff and community meet and greets, and an all-day district tour.
“Her excellent performance in her current role, her demonstration of excellence to the district and her proven ability to take the district to the next level is why we chose Mrs. Kraatz,” said Board of Education President Arik Smith.
The current superintendent Bruce Martin announced his retirement in June. Provided successful negotiation of a contract and a satisfactory background check, Kraatz will take over as superintendent on January 1, 2024.
The Saginaw Township Community Schools (STCS) is comprised of eight elementary, middle and high schools within Saginaw Township, Michigan, and serves nearly 4,600 students.
