“Boys to Men” is the title theme for a conference hosted by Pastor Augustine Delgado at New Beginnings Ministries Outreach, 701 Hess.

The free event begins with a donated lunch at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, also featuring:

  • Rev. Dr. Joseph Rodriquez, founder of Agape Faith Fellowship in Bridgeport.
  • Pastor Marcelle Smith of Bay City’s Second Baptist Church.
  • Pastor Kirk Cullison of GraceValley Church in Saginaw Township.

“Coming into manhood has its challenges,” Delgado notes. “Not everyone has a friend, mentor, teacher or even pastor. I had a father present as a child. but too many boys do not. We want to make sure every male knows he has a friend who is willing to pray, encourage, and stand by him.”

But Saturday’s event is for a group discussion, elders and youth both included. And the proceedings will not be all solemn, promising “lunch and laughs and prizes” along with the live worship and topical talk.

Delgado says, “We aim for men to leave our conference feeling equipped, and ready to tackle life, ready to fight for their families, their finances, their health and their future.”
