The morning of Feb. 1 was devoted to annual State of the City and State of the County messages, delivered by Mayor Brenda Moore and new County Chairman Christopher Boyd.
Unity Hall at The Dow Event Center was the location for the traditional Chamber of Commerce breakfast event, via the Percolator Club.
One difference between State of the Union and the local proceedings is that audience members do not stand up every 30 seconds to applaud, and so the speeches don’t last an hour or beyond.
