Saginaw Township Community Schools announced John Mansfield as the new district Athletic Director/Heritage High School Assistant Principal. He replaces Kent Kraatz, who moves into a full-time Assistant Principal position at Heritage High School.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts from Saginaw Valley State University with a major in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Since graduating in May 2002, John has been employed as a K-12 health and physical education teacher in the Hemlock Public Schools. In 2012, he obtained his Masters of Education in the Principalship (K-12) from SVSU. He holds a current Michigan Teaching Certificate and Michigan Administrative Certificate.
He has coached in a variety of capacities, mostly in the areas of football and wrestling, both at the varsity head coaching and numerous sub-varsity and junior-high levels. His coaching career spans districts such as Norwalk (Ohio), Saginaw Public School District, Hemlock, and Saginaw Township (current Heritage JV Football Head Coach).
John and his family are long-time Saginaw Township residents and both sons graduated from Heritage High School.
The Saginaw Township Community Schools is comprised of 8 schools including alternative and advanced programs. The mission is to educate, guide and challenge all students to develop lifelong learning skills necessary to successfully contribute and compete in a rapidly changing global society.
