Downtown fest kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month
“Fiesta! K?onda!” in Spanish is the English equivalent of “What’s Up?” The third annual festival is up for four downtown days, Thursday through Sunday, at the SVRC Marketplace outdoor pavilion. Indoor concerts also are slated on Saturday afternoon.
K?onda, a monthly magazine, organizes the event to mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
Admission is free, featuring live entertainment and children’s activities. Vendors will offer food, arts and crafts, and clothing with accessories. Start times are 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, extending into sunset.
If a festival patron wishes to get involved in local issues and concerns, at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Delta downtown campus is the monthly meeting of Saginaw LLEAD, Latino Leaders for the Enhancement of Advocacy and Development.
