New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 3121 Sheridan, will host "Coffee with a Cop" event on Saturday, Oct 7.

“Coffee with a Cop,” an event to promote police/community relations, begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 3121 Sheridan, with officers from Michigan State Police and the City of Saginaw on hand to interact and to answer questions.

Bishop Larry Camel is the founding leader of Parishioners on Patrol and co-chair of ALPACT, Advocates and Leaders for Police And Community Trust.

The Saginaw event is tied to Faith & Blue, a national effort to work through churches. The slogan  is, “Building Bridges to More Inclusive Communities.”
