Consumers Energy has named Kyle McCree director of community affairs for Saginaw County and the eastern region of the state. McCree has been with the company since 2017 serving in a number of roles, including community affairs manager for Genesee County and director of state governmental affairs.
“Kyle’s experience with the company and years of service in the Flint and Great Lakes Bay Region regions will make him an excellent liaison to Saginaw County and enable him to transition seamlessly into this role,” said Josh Burgett, executive director of community engagement for Consumers Energy. “I look forward to seeing him continue to cultivate our relationships in the area, working to ensure customers in the community know that Consumers Energy is here not only to provide the energy expected, but the hometown service they deserve.”
Prior to joining Consumers Energy, McCree served as Director of Core Initiatives for the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce, and previously was the Mid-Michigan Regional Field Organizer for the Democratic National Committee.
“It is a privilege to get to serve in this capacity, and I’m excited to engage with our customers and stakeholders across the communities of Saginaw County,” said McCree. “This is an excellent opportunity to serve this region once again and I’m eager to continue the work that’s been done in Saginaw County already.”
McCree is an active member of the Rotary Club of Flint, where he is a Past President. He also serves as a Trustee for the Ruth Mott Foundation and a board member of the MI Board of Pharmacy. He has served on numerous non-profit and civic organization boards and is a former Big Brother with Big Brother Big Sisters.
McCree is the grandson of Floyd McCree, elected Flint’s first black mayor in 1966, one year ahead of Henry Marsh’s appointment in Saginaw. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and his MBA from the University of Michigan-Flint. He will be based out of Flint.
